Chart Hands-Free with PCC’s AI Scribe

Seamlessly and securely turn conversations into visit notes with PCC EHR’s built-in AI Scribe.

AI Scribe Overview

PCC has begun development on a built-in, virtual scribe that uses AI technology to turn audio recordings into patient visit notes. The AI Scribe is fully integrated into PCC EHR and is designed to help you focus on patient interaction while reducing documentation time and maintaining note quality. Use of the AI Scribe is completely optional.

Who Can Use It

PCC’s integrated AI Scribe solution will be available on an opt-in, per-user basis for clinicians who chart patient visits. If you don’t want to use the AI Scribe in PCC EHR, you don’t have to!

When It Is Arriving

The first version of PCC’s AI Scribe will be delivered in 2026. A more specific timeline will be announced in early 2026.

How Much It Costs

PCC has not yet determined what cost may be associated with use of the AI Scribe solution.

How It Works

At the press of a button, PCC’s AI Scribe listens to your visit and transcribes it. AI technology then generates a visit note from the transcript. You can edit every aspect of the generated note before saving it to the patient’s chart. If you know you always want notes structured a certain way, you can set overall formatting preferences.

Who Is Building It

Following extensive research, PCC has decided not to partner with an AI vendor like Freed or Heidi. Instead, PCC is building an in-house solution that leverages a third-party Large Language Model (LLM) service. A Business Associate Agreement (BAA) will cover PCC’s use of the LLM service, which will be used to generate visit notes from transcribed audio. More details will be provided in early 2026.

Data Privacy and Security

PCC’s research into AI scribe solutions and technologies focused especially on patient privacy and data security. The solution currently in development will keep patient data secure. PCC will not share identifying patient information with third-party service providers or use patient data to train its AI Scribe. Additionally, a BAA will cover PCC’s use of third-party services. More information about data retention policies will be provided in early 2026.

Patient Consent

While PCC encourages transparent, consent-based use of the AI Scribe, the legal obligation to obtain patient and parental consent to record conversations depends on your local jurisdiction. Check with your practice’s legal counsel to establish policies and practices for use of the AI Scribe.
