PCC 10.3 Takes Longer to Install on Certain Macintosh Workstations
PCC 10.3 may take upwards of 15 minutes to install on Macintosh computers with Apple silicon (M-series) processors.
The installer progress message inaccurately reports the remaining installation time as “Less than a minute”.
Follow these instructions from Apple to find out which processor you have.
Update Your macOS 11, macOS 12, and Windows 10 Workstations
When a manufacturer stops providing security updates for an operating system, PCC ends support as well. For more information, read Hardware Guide: Your Personal Computer and Equipment.
macOS
Apple has stopped providing security updates for their macOS 11 Big Sur and macOS 12 Monterey operating systems, so PCC will no longer support PCC EHR access from these operating systems with the 10.3 release.
Workstations currently running a macOS 11 or 12 operating system will not be able to run PCC EHR version 10.3. A notice will appear on the PCC EHR login screen instructing users to contact their system administrator.
PCC 10.3 will only run on macOS 13 Ventura or higher.
Windows
Microsoft is ending support for the Windows 10 operating system, so PCC will soon be ending support for this operating system too.
In PCC 10.3, the PCC EHR login screen on Windows 10 workstations will display a notice about needing to update the operating system by the first quarter of 2026.
Future versions of PCC EHR introduced in 2026 will only run on Windows 11 or higher.
