PCC 10.4 Release Overview
PCC 10.4 delivers powerful new workflows for billers, great new abilities for families when self-scheduling, new tools for queuing up prescriptions, and more!
Billing
Respond to Every Claim Rejection
If unaddressed, rejected claims result in lost revenue. Use the new Rejected Claims worklist to review and respond to every claim rejection sent to your practice.
Follow Up on Unpaid Encounters with Insurance Balances
How can you track your practice’s insurance A/R and keep tabs on unpaid claims? Use the new Unpaid Encounters worklist.
Handle Claim Responses that Can’t Be Autoposted
When something unusual arrives on an ERA, sometimes PCC can’t automatically post the adjudication. Use the new Posting Exceptions worklist to review and resolve payor responses that can’t be autoposted.
Work Personal Balances in PCC EHR
How do you know which families owe you money, and who you need to call? Use the Personal Balances tool to work down a list of accounts, contact them, and collect.
Use a Family’s Account History to Resolve Billing Issues
When you need to troubleshoot a billing issue for an account, or a family asks for an annual account record, use the new Account History in the patient’s chart.
Update Billing Identifiers to Prevent Claim Rejections
To get paid, every claim needs a tax ID, an NPI, and a taxonomy code. Quickly update these vital identifiers for your clinicians in the PCC EHR Tables tool.
Reverse and Repost: Takeback Only Part of an Insurance Payment
When a payor’s reversal changes just part of a posted payment, you can now easily reverse the original payment and repost everything. You can just enter the changes, not the entire payment for the visit.
Generate 30-Day Letters in PCC EHR
Want to generate a 30-day letter right from a chart? Practices using the Forms Configuration tool can generate account forms with specialized account variables such as account balance and missed appointments.
Self-Scheduling
Schedule Appointments for the Whole Family in Patient Portal
Schedule the whole family all at once with patient portal scheduling. When enabled, the option to “Add Another Patient“ is available while scheduling in the patient portal. Patient portal searches for and offers appointment time slots to fit all the selected patients back-to-back.
Find Exactly the Right Appointment Time in Patient Portal
Your patients and families can now find the perfect appointment time slot quickly and easily. When self-scheduling through the patient portal, users can page through the calendar, or jump directly to the most convenient day instead of scrolling endlessly.
Schedule More Than Just Sick or Well Visits in Patient Portal
Expand your patient portal scheduling beyond the basics with two new Patient Portal scheduling categories: Other and Vaccine. The Other category is available for any visit reason that doesn’t fall under the Well or Sick categories. The Vaccine category can be assigned to vaccine only appointments.
Take Control of Portal Scheduling Search Rules
Limit, or expand, the range of dates available for Patient Portal Scheduling, so you can be sure portal users are scheduling only within the range of dates you set. Portal Scheduling, under PCC EHR’s Scheduling Configuration includes the option to set the start and stop times for each category, Well, Sick, and the new Other and Vaccine categories.
Use Flags to Prevent Self Scheduling
Do you have patients with scheduling challenges or unusual requirements for an appointment? Add a flag to prevent them from self scheduling in the patient portal.
Activate Patient Portal Scheduling One Care Center at a Time
Let each of your Care Centers enable portal scheduling independently. If your practice uses PCC EHR’s Care Centers option, patient portal scheduling can be turned on or off for each care center individually, so you can ease into using portal scheduling one center at a time.
Something For Everyone!
Filter Inactive Patients
Find the patient you’re looking for without sifting through aged out, dismissed, or otherwise inactive patients. Patients marked as inactive are now hidden in patient search results.
Limit Search Results by Care Center
Find the patient you’re looking for without sifting through extraneous results by searching only for patients assigned to a selected care center.
Save Documents by Account Holder in PCC EHR
Want to save one policy document and view it from each sibling’s chart? You can now import and save billing and policy documents by account holder rather than by patient.
Write Faster!
Save yourself time and typing by taking full advantage of PCC EHR’s Snap Texts. Access your list of short texts without the need to remember your code. Just type Ctrl+Shift+. (or command+Shift+.when using a Mac) to open the list of Snap Texts, or right-click and select “Insert Snap Text” to select exactly which one to place in the text field.
Customize Your Flags for Alerts, Scheduling, and Reporting in PCC EHR
Need to track accounts with billing problems? Prevent scheduling of certain patients? Customize your practice’s account and patient flags in the Flags table in PCC EHR.
Create Custom Forms for Account Holders in PCC EHR
Want to design your own past-due letters and policy documents with signatures and letterhead? Use the Forms Configuration tool to create account forms with specialized account variables, such as account balance and missed appointments.
Prescribing
Use Snap Text in eRx
Use Snap Text shortcuts to quickly enter taper instructions and other common prescribing phrases.
Adjust Your eRx Text Size
If you find yourself squinting to read the text in PCC eRx, make it bigger! This setting only changes the text size for you, not other users.
Snap a Selfie to Register for EPCS
New physician hires can complete identity proofing for controlled substance prescribing (EPCS) by snapping a selfie and a picture of their ID.
Resend Any Prescription in a 3-Month Supply
When the pharmacy runs out of your preferred CII on the second month of a patient’s 3-month supply, resend that prescription to a different pharmacy.
Let Staff Queue Prescriptions for Resend
Instead of searching through a patient’s history to cancel and manually prepare new versions of prescriptions that need to be modified or rerouted to a different pharmacy, clinical staff can use the “Resend” button to queue up changes for a prescriber’s approval.
Resend Prescriptions from Any Encounter
Optionally resend prescriptions from the Prescription History section of any one of your patient’s visits, phone notes, portal messages, or eRx encounters.
Prescribe a 2-Month Supply of Controlled Substances
When school’s out for summer and your patients need less medication, delete the third Date to Fill on their 3-month supply of behavioral medications to prescribe a 2-month supply instead.
See an NDC on Every Prescription
The NDC PCC eRx has been sending with prescriptions all along now appears plainly where you can see it.
Set a Preferred Drug Name and NDC
Optionally edit the medication name and NDC before sending your prescription off to the pharmacy. PCC eRx will remember your preferences the next time you prescribe the same drug.
Concerta Woes Begone
Generic Concerta prescriptions will go to the pharmacy with a more representative name and NDC so pharmacists have better information about what to dispense.
Other eRx Goodies
Get more out of PCC eRx with a fresh new look for the My Settings page, more options to customize your prescribing experience, fewer errors, and new safeguards to prevent users from accidentally resending prescriptions.
