Use AniTa as Your Partner Window

AniTa is a Windows PC program that provides access to Partner.

The Different Ways to Open a Partner Window

PCC’s practice management suite, Partner, includes text-based programs. You can access them from a few different terminal solutions.

The easiest and most accessible is from the Practice Management icon in PCC EHR.

For help opening a Partner window in PCC EHR, read Open Practice Management (Partner) Windows.

Alternatively, you can access Partner tools through other terminal services.

AniTa is a third-party, customizable program that provides custom colors and mouse support.

You can use PCC EHR, Tera Term, AniTa or another solution to connect your PC to your Partner server. Contact PCC Support at 1-800-722-1082 for help.

Run AniTa

To launch AniTa, double click on the “AniTa 32” icon on your desktop.

Next, you will see the familiar Partner login screen. Type your name and password to continue.

Note: If there is no “AniTa 32” or “Partner” icon on your desktop, you should seek help from your office’s system administrator or contact PCC Support.

Use the Mouse to Enter Fields and Click Buttons

While using Partner programs in AniTa, you can use your mouse. You can click in fields to jump right to them. You can also use the keyboard to navigate among fields, pressing enter, backspace or the arrow keys. If you want to check off the box you are clicking on, to select a diagnosis in checkout or a form letter in fame, you can click the box using the right-mouse button. Otherwise, use the standard left mouse button to jump to the field.

At the top of the screen are three convenient buttons used for common Partner functions. You can still press the Page Up, Page Down, and F12 keys on your keyboard. Or, if you are more comfortable with the mouse, you can click the buttons at the top of your screen.

The eight function keys at the bottom of your screen are also click-able. You can also press F1 through F8 on your keyboard.

Set AniTa Window Size

AniTa windows work just like other windows on your computer. This means you can make the window any size you like or work in full screen mode.

If you are familiar with Microsoft Windows®, then you know about the buttons in the upper right hand corner of each window, as shown in the picture below. The first button minimizes the window so you can store it in the task bar at the bottom of your screen. This can be useful for managing four or five different Partner windows at once. The middle button switches back and forth between a maximized (full screen) view and a windowed view. The third button closes the window, and should not be used after you have entered your password (logging out will close the window instead).

In AniTa, you can switch back and forth between full screen and window view. While in the window view, you can resize your window easily for easier reading (or to fit more on your screen). This changes the font size of Partner, while keeping the same number of rows and columns. To try changing your font size, simply click on the lower-right hand corner (shown below) and drag the window. The size of the letters will change as you drag the window to a new size.

Change Rows and Columns in AniTa (or Tera Term

Follow the procedure below to change the number of rows or columns visible in Anita. Instructions and examples for TeraTerm are also included.

Log In to Partner

Use TeraTerm or AniTa to log in to Partner.

Open the Terminal Settings

Click Config–>Terminal Emulation (in AniTa) or Setup–>Terminal (in TeraTerm) to open the terminal settings.

Increase Width and/or Height

Change the number of columns or rows for your terminal window. Note that in AniTa, you may only select a width of 80 or 132 columns.

Use 80 Columns x 30 Rows, or More: The minimum required width for Partner programs is 80 columns of text. The minimum height for Partner programs is 30 rows.

Click “OK” to Exit the Window

Evaluate, Click and Drag, and Try Again

You can experiment with different sizes to find the right match for your screen and your needs.

Click and Drag to Change Font Size: If you are using AniTa, you can click the Microsoft Windows window size corner and make on-the-fly changes to font size. By filling the screen, you will select the maximum font size available.

Save Your Changes

In AniTa, click on the “File” menu and select “Save config”. You can also simply log out, and AniTa will prompt you to save your changes.

In TeraTerm, click Setup–>Save Setup.

Change Your Monitor’s Resolution

If a terminal’s lines do not fit on your computer monitor, PCC recommends increasing your monitor’s resolution setting to at least 1024 x 768 pixels.

Some users may prefer a 800×600 resolution in order to make font sizes larger for readability. However, you can increase your font size using software settings (or the “full screen” window button in AniTa), and achieve the same readability. Work with your office’s system administrator or contact PCC Support for advice.

Change the Host Name to Which AniTa Connects

If your PC workstation can not connect to Partner using the name “Partner,” because you are in a remote office or have multiple networks within your office, you may need to change the host that AniTa connects to when launched. For example, a PCC support tech might tell you to switch the target from “Partner” to “10.0.0.1” or another IP address. Follow these steps:

Run AniTa

Double click on the AniTa icon on your desktop.

Click “Config” and select “General Settings”

Enter the New Host Name or IP Address

In the “Host Name” box, as shown below, enter the new host name or IP address needed to connect to Partner.

Click “OK” to continue.

Save Your Settings, Quit and Relaunch

Click on the “File” menu and select, “Save.”

Now you can close your AniTa window and then run AniTa again. AniTa will try to connect to Partner using the new host name or address that you entered. If you have trouble, call PCC at 1-800-722-1082.

Customize Anita Sounds, Fonts, and Colors

AniTa has several special customization options.

Sounds

The buttons (or “hotspots”) on the AniTa screen create a feedback sound when you select them with the mouse. If you want to disable the sounds, or customize them in any way, do the following:

  1. First, hold down the alt key and click on any of the buttons on your screen (like the F12 button at the top of your screen).

  2. A properties window will open. Click on the “Mouse…” tab, as shown below.

  3. To eliminate the sounds, you can simply erase the “wav” files that are shown in the three boxes. If you are a Microsoft Windows® guru, you can use the browse button next to the boxes to assign any sound you want to the different mouse actions.

  4. When you are finished, click the red “Close” box on the properties window.

  5. To save your changes, select the “File” menu, and click “Save Config…”

Fonts

The letters on your AniTa screen are displayed with a font called “New Courier.” If you don’t like New Courier, or want to try switching to a bold font for easier reading, follow this procedure.

  1. Click on the “Config” menu, select the “Font…” option, and then click on the “Font 80…” choice, as shown below.

  2. In the window below, choose a font from the left hand side. You can also choose to make the font bold, or assign other attributes. To change font size, you should close this window and click on the corner of your window to drag it to a different size. Read the “Window Size: Basics” section above for more details.

  3. Click “OK”.

  4. Click on the “File” menu, and click “Save Config” to make your changes permanent. To view the new font on your screen, you may have to quit the program you are in and run it again.

Colors

You can change the colors used in AniTa to match your style and work environment. You can change the colors for both the words on the screen (the foreground) and the page they are drawn upon (the background).

  1. To get started, click on the “Config” menu, and select “Colors and Attributes…”

  2. You will see the window pictured below.

  3. Once you have made these changes, click “OK”. To save your changes, click on the “File” menu and select “Save Config.”

From the same window, you could also assign a custom background image for your AniTa window. If your practice has an official logo or watermark, you could make that image part of your Partner experience. Just click on the “Wallpaper” button in the same “Colors and Attributes…” window.
