Hubs and Switches are the center of your network. All network devices, including PCs and the Partner Server, plug into a port on the hub or switch. You can plug devices into any port, the ports do not need to be individually configured.
Power Cycle and Reset a Hub or Switch
Unplug the power cord from the back of the device.
Count to five.
Plug in the power cord.

An etherlite allows devices that are not networked, such as IBM-3153 or ATT-705 terminals, to connect to a modern computer network. Not every office needs an etherlite. If networked PCs are able to connect to Partner and your dumb terminals are not, the etherlite may be the problem.
Each device on an etherlite must be plugged into a specific, assigned port. If you wish to add serial devices or switch ports, you must ask PCC's Technical Solutions Team (800-722-1082, x2) to program the appropriate etherlite port.
Reset and Power-Cycle an Etherlite
Trace the powercord from the back of the etherlite into its power adaptor.
Unplug the power adaptor from the wall.
Wait 5 seconds.
Plug the power adaptor back into the wall.

PCC uses your modem to connect to your server when we configure or support your office. In many offices, the modem is also used to send and receive e-mail, submit e-bills, and send electronic claims.
Reset and Power-Cycle Your Modem
Press the gray power button as indicated above.
Wait five seconds and check that the cables and telephone line are firmly connected.
Push the gray power button again to turn the modem on.
Log in to Partner and open a UNIX prompt.
Type kug and press Enter.
Type reprogram and press Enter.

The UPS filters and supplies power to your Partner Server. It protects anything that is plugged into it from power surges and brown-outs.
The UPS works silently until a power problem occurs. Then the UPS will begin to beep loudly and supply filtered power to devices plugged into it. Usually, the UPS will supply five minutes of power to the server when the power fails completely.
When your power fails, shut down your server as soon as possible. After five minutes, the UPS will attempt to safely shut down the server for you automatically.
